Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated Patient Review and Referral Coordinator for their client's healthcare team in Texas. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely and accurate coordination of patient care, acting as a bridge between patients, providers, and external healthcare partners. The position requires a bilingual professional fluent in both English and Spanish to manage referrals and navigate insurance requirements while supporting clinical teams through excellent communication and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and process referrals from providers and clinics.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and secure necessary authorizations or pre-certifications.
  • Schedule appointments with specialists or external providers and communicate details to patients.
  • Maintain complete, accurate records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Conduct follow-ups on pending referrals and ensure all required documentation is completed.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to clinical teams as necessary.
  • Handle a high volume of calls and emails, ensuring a positive HR experience with every employee.

Technical & Software Requirements

The role requires frequent handling of intake, scheduling, and detailed chart reviews. Candidates must be comfortable navigating clinical information and processing large volumes of data.

Daily tools include:

  • SharePoint
  • NextGen
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Outlook, Windows, and Excel
  • Multiple databases and healthcare software systems

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of medical/healthcare experience, preferably in referrals, scheduling, intake, or clinic/hospital environments.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Experience verifying insurance and processing referrals.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and strong general computer proficiency.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a high-volume environment.

Benefits

Competitive salary range from $18.50 to $21.00 per hour.
